Guidance and Hope for Residency Applicants: A Prayer

Heavenly Father,

As I stand at the threshold of this uncertain moment in my life, seeking residency in this new country, I come before You with a heart filled with hope and anticipation. The journey I've been on, navigating through visa applications, sacrifices, and longing for a better future, has been challenging and filled with moments of doubt and fear.

Lord, I carry with me the weight of leaving behind my homeland, my family, my friends, and all that is familiar to me. It's a journey of faith and resilience, one that has tested my strength and resolve. As I await the decision from the government, I feel the uncertainty hanging over me—will I be granted the opportunity to stay and build a new life here, or will I be asked to return to my homeland?

In this time of waiting, Lord, I ask for Your peace to fill my heart. Help me to trust that my efforts have not been in vain, that every sacrifice and hardship has been a part of Your greater plan for my life. Whether I stay or go, let this not be the defining moment of my journey. Help me to see beyond the outcome and understand that Your plan for me is bigger than I can imagine.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Guide me, Lord, to focus on the bigger picture—to use my gifts and experiences to serve You and others, wherever I may be. Whether I stay in this country or return to my homeland, let me bring positive change, growth, and goodness to the world around me.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, grant me the strength to keep faith, a happy spirit, and trust in You. Help me to be thankful every day and through submission and prayer, make my desires known to You, allowing room for Your final decision about what is best.

And as I release the stress and feel at peace knowing all that I could have done is done, help me to understand that the rest is in Your hands. As a faithful servant, I will keep serving in any country I find myself, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.

I place my hopes, dreams, and future into Your loving hands, trusting that You will guide and provide for me every step of the way.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.
